Clem Jacob Hire Ireland & Red Kettle Theatre Company
The Business Challenge
For Clem Jacob Hire maintains a belief that creativity and imagination should be encouraged and supported by the business community. Maintaining its status as one of the most successful hire companies in the south east involves a sponsorship in-kind strategy which has makes equipment available to arts organisations in Waterford.
The Solution
Red Kettle Theatre Company and Clem Jacob Hire collaborated on the large-scale theatrical production of Russell Hoban’s Ridley Walker. This is to date the biggest production ever undertaken by Red Kettle Theatre Company with a cast of 36 and a live percussion band. Red Kettle entered the project with not much more than a cast and a field, and Clem Jacob Hire’s sponsorship provided a variety of equipment from diggers, generators, lights and toilets to marquees and audience seating for a period of four weeks which allowed the ambitious project to become a reality.
Benefits to Company
The profile of this collaboration, which was staged in a circus Big-Top received considerable local and national media coverage and ensured that the sponsorship was a highly visible. The relationship was highly developed one with hands-on and creative participation by the Clem Jacob Hire team.
Benefits to Stakeholders
Clem Jacob Hire’s model of arts sponsorship demonstrates how a Small to Medium Enterprise can remove significant overheads from an arts organisation through the in-kind provision equipment, and by doing so enabling the staging of large-scale artistic productions for their community.
