Heritage Properties & The Irish Architecture Foundation
The Business Challenge
Heritage Properties were seeking to unlock opportunities for new business in property development at home and abroad by promoting their brand as one committed to architecture of the highest quality. They sought an opportunity to broaden their access to leading architects worldwide and promote their brand as a world-class company which remained in touch with its Irish roots.
The Solution
The Venice Biennale is one of the most prestigious cultural events in the world. Since its foundation, it has played a key role in promoting new artistic trends. Heritage Properties sponsorship of the Irish Pavilion at the Biennale began in 2003 in the lead up to the 2004 Biennale. The sponsorship of Ireland’s 2006 entry, SubUrban to SuperRural, presented visionary proposals for Ireland’s sustainable development by 2030. The entry was intended as a wake up call, to spark debate about the direction of development in Ireland over the next generation.
Benefits to Company
TOverseas markets were a key target for Heritage Properties. When foreign officials learn that Heritage Properties collaborated on Ireland’s pavilion at the world’s largest architecture exhibition the response was invariably positive. The national Tour of SubUrban to SuperRural in 2007 also served to enhance Heritage Properties brand among domestic architects.
Benefits to Stakeholders
Private sponsorship of Ireland’s entry at the architectural Biennale from Heritage Properties in 2004 & 2006 was extremely successful at leveraging greater public sector support for contemporary Irish architecture and have helped to place contemporary Irish architecture firmly on the international stage.
