An Arts Fund for Ireland
The Millenium Wing at the National Gallery of Ireland by Benson & Forsyth Architects
The need to establish new sources of funding for arts and culture in Ireland is critical as a result of reducing public sector subsidy and the fact that there are no private grant-making foundations in Ireland specifically supporting arts and culture on an annual basis. To address this challenge, Business to Arts and The Community Foundation for Ireland are seeking to establish a privately funded Arts Fund for Ireland.

With this fund, we aim to create a unique opportunity for donors and provide a mechanism for the ongoing support of arts and cultural causes that donors care about. With investment from individuals, families, businesses and other organisations we will establish a permanent, efficient and accountable grant-making endowment fund which will provide a source of financial support to benefit the arts and cultural sector for generations to come.

To do this we need your support to get the Fund started. If you are interested in finding out how donations will impact the arts sector, please contact Business to Arts.

How will The Fund be managed?
The Fund will operate under the wider umbrella of The Community Foundation for Ireland (an established grant making foundation with an asset base in excess of €23 million) which will assist with the governance, investment and operational issues of the fund. Monies for endowment will be pooled with other funds at The Community Foundation for investment purposes but will be designated as the Arts Fund for Ireland. Interest / earnings from the fund will be used to support organisations that successfully apply to the fund.
