Introducing our 2024 Business to Arts Awards Shortlist and Awards Sculpture

16 July 2024

Shortlisted partnerships highlight mental health, inclusion, and sustainability as key arts and business focus, while this year's Awards Sculpture speaks to the promise of collaboration.

Today, Business to Arts announces the highly competitive shortlist for this year’s Business to Arts Awards, taking place at the National Concert Hall on Monday, 9th September.

This year’s shortlist represents a mix of new corporate entrants to arts sponsorship including Workday, Waterways Ireland, and Clinch Wealth Management, as well as a strong show of continuing support from long-standing supporters of the arts in the business world.

The Business to Arts Awards recognise businesses, philanthropists, artists, and arts organisations that develop compelling creative partnerships. Shortlisted partnerships focus on arts sponsorship, philanthropy, commissioning of artists, access to the arts, and CSR initiatives, such as employee and community engagement.

Award winners will be presented with a limited edition award sculpture commissioned by daa for the 32nd year in a row. ‘Geallta’ (Promise) is created by Emmet Kane from Castledermot, Co. Kildare. Inspired by the promise stones found around Ireland, and representing the partnership potential of business and the arts, the award is crafted from ebonised Irish Oak that is textured, oiled, and gilded with 23c gold leaf. Kane comes from five generations of Master Craftsmen, and is a self-taught Woodturner/Sculptor since 1988. He was a former winner of a Business to Arts Award himself.

The Judging Panel featured representatives from Accenture, CBRE, Community Foundation Ireland, daa, Dublin International Film Festival, ESB, Irish Architecture Foundation, Irish Life, Kmend, The Irish Times, and TileStyle.

The 2024 Business to Arts Awards will take place on Monday, 9th September at the National Concert Hall. A total of €25,000 will be presented to successful artists and arts organisations through bursaries and awards on the night.

We really value our long-standing relationship with Business to Arts and the role daa has played in honouring the winners over the past 32 years. This year’s award, commissioned from Emmet Kane, is an exceptional sculpture from an incredibly talented craftsman. We are delighted to sponsor the awards again this year.”

This year’s shortlist attests to businesses engaging at a deeper, more considered level than ever before, ensuring there is a positive impact on both partners and wider society, with exciting newer initiatives emerging alongside more established partnerships. We are so grateful for the time, attention and consideration of the judges in what is a mammoth task.”
