Bank of Ireland Art Collection
Conserving, maintaining and re-curating one of Ireland's most significant corporate art collections
Business to Arts was asked to survey and catalogue the Bank of Ireland Art Collection in order to preserve and maintain it correctly and to lay the foundations for a new strategy for the collection.
Over the course of two years, Business to Arts assessed and catalogued a collection of almost a thousand artworks. We consolidated the majority of the collection into a centralised storage location in order to preserve it and make it more accessible.
Aspects of the collection were brought out of storage and are currently exhibited within the bank's College Green and Baggot Plaza premises. This was the first step to engaging staff and customers with the collection. Our work with Bank of Ireland is ongoing and we are currently working on developing a long-term art strategy that will define how the collection will be strengthened and engaged with over the coming years.
