The work of art could be a painting, a sculpture, a mural, photography, a piece of literature or poetry, or even a performance piece - small or large scale, interior or exterior. It is a way for your company to acquire a work of art that aligns with your ethos, values and goals.
Commissioning art or purchasing artworks is a powerful way to enhance your workplace environment, reinforce your corporate strategy and express your brand values. It can inspire creativity and innovation among employees, engage your local community, commemorate company milestones, and contribute to the cultural heritage of the company.
Over the past 36 years, we have delivered over 100 artist commissions across a range of artforms, managing the process end-to-end, from defining the vision, artist research and selection, to contracting and project governance, artist and client liaison, installation, and guidance on how to socialise and activate the artwork internally.
Our recent commissions have featured dance, visual art, sculpture, and more, all to tell the unique story of the commissioning organisation. We can work with you to build an art collection with a cohesive narrative, catalogue and assess existing works, select and place a curator-in-residence, develop bespoke curatorial policies, or launch an internal art committee. We can advise on acquiring new art, supporting emerging artforms and artists, and inform the re-curation of existing collections. We can also source external expertise on valuations, authentication and conservation as the project requires.
Some art collections we have worked with include Iconic Offices, Bank of Ireland, Irish Life, and Arthur Cox.

The annual ‘wear and tear’ allowance’ for a commissioned or acquired artwork is 12.5%, allowing for the recovery of the purchase price over a number of years.

“ I am delighted to work with Business to Arts at the intersection of the two worlds who can both learn from and support each other. As a former Chair of the Irish Life Art Committee, facilitated by Business to Arts, I have seen firsthand the power of bringing culture into a business and the positive effects it can have on company culture.”
